Where this came from

I publish The Monument Independent, a local newsroom covering Monument, Palmer Lake, and the Tri-Lakes area. Running a publication means living inside the practical realities of search: what gets indexed, what gets ignored, what structured data actually changes, and — increasingly — what AI assistants say when someone asks them about a local topic.

That last part is what prompted this. Watching assistants answer questions about local businesses, it became obvious how often they got it wrong, or omitted a business entirely, purely because the business had given them nothing to work with. Not because the business was bad. Because the site was invisible to a machine that was trying to read it.

How the work is different

Most SEO offers are built to survive a sales call. This one is built to survive scrutiny:

• The audit is genuinely free and genuinely fixed. One email, within 48 hours, no follow-up unless you ask. It is not a lead-nurture sequence with an audit attached.
• Pricing is published. If a price is on the site you can plan around it without a discovery call.
• No long contracts. Month to month. If the reporting stops justifying the invoice, you should be able to stop.
• No guaranteed rankings. Nobody can guarantee those, and the ones who do are telling you something useful about themselves.

A note on independence

Because I also run a local newsroom, there is an obvious question about overlap. The answer: Beacon Lite Digital is a separate business with separate infrastructure, and being a client here buys nothing at The Monument Independent — no coverage, no favourable treatment, no influence over reporting. If that ever becomes a live conflict on a specific story, the newsroom's obligations win.
